CUSR Afterschool Program

Ages 5-22

Fill your afternoons with games, sports, arts and crafts, cooking, and hanging out with friends at the CUSR Center! We offer an amazing and safe atmosphere where participants will laugh, play, grow, and learn new skills.

To reserve your spot, pay the $10 non-refundable deposit per child, per month. The remaining balance will be due on the deadline listed below by 5pm. Participants will be dropped if payment is not made by deadline in order to offer the spot to a wait-listed participant.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: CUSR’s After School Program starts at 2:30p. It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to coordinate a drop off time with the bus responsible for transporting their child to ensure an appropriate drop off time. Early drop offs may not be able to be accommodated.

Summer Youth Programs
For Kids Only

Ages 5-12

Join the fun for 2023! There will be games, crafts, sports, cooking, swimming, field trips, and more! CUSR Summer Youth Programs offer a safe and structured environment to explore, expand, and enjoy.

We are staffed with well-trained, outgoing individuals to make this summer the best ever! A 1:4 staff to participant ratio is observed whenever possible. The CUSR Summer Youth Program is open to any individual who has a disability.

We understand that it may be difficult to pay all costs up front. Because of this, we require a $10 non-refundable deposit per child per session to hold a spot. The reminder will be due two weeks before each week begins.

Camp Spirit

Ages 13-High School Graduate

Star Wars Day Celebration

Ages 6-22

May the force be with you to join us for Star Wars Day! Enjoy fun Star Wars themed games and movies.

Ice Cream Social

Ages 16+

We all scream for ice cream! Eat different varieties and combinations of ice cream sundaes while enjoying time with friends.

Mustang Open Gym

Ages: 16+

Want to shoot some hoops but team sports aren’t really your thing? Want a chill place to just curl up with a book or grab some markers and color? Come hang out at Mustang Open Gym! Shoot hoops in the gym, play one of our giant board games, or hang out in the activity room and socialize with your buds!

Mustang Softball

Ages: 13+

Spend this season working on the fundamentals for our Mustang Softball Team! Practices will focus on the basic skills of hitting, fielding, throwing, and sportsmanship. Competitions with other area teams and Special Olympics will depend on current safety guidelines and TBA. All athletes must have a current Special Olympics Medical Application on file with CUSR by June 25; Medical Applications must be valid through September 10.  If you need a new form, please visit the following link: https://cuspecialrecreation.com/downloads-and-resources/

Join CUSR as we venture to the Wisconsin Dells Kalhlari Resort. Hang out at Tom Foolerys Arcade and enjoy a fun magic show! This program fee includes lodging, meals, and admission. Join CUSR, Champaign and Urbana Park Districts and Special Olympics for the first annual C-U on the Field Day. There will be sports demos, health and wellness activities and carnival games. Get a carnival game wristband for $5 and play all the games you want! We’ll have snow cones and popcorn available for purchase as well. On-site registration will be available for some programs. If you would like to donate individually wrapped candy to be used as carnival prizes or would like to volunteer at the event, please reach out to cusr@champaignparks.org.
