On Sunday, April 29th from 2:00-5:00pm, we will be hosting our first annual Bowl-A-Thon fundraiser benefiting the CUSR Scholarship Fund at Arrowhead Lanes. The registration fee for this event is $15/person, which will cover the cost of two games of bowling, as well as shoes. We will also have a live DJ, Karaoke, fun awards for most strikes, most gutterballs, highest/lowest score, best costume/team costume, and more! Food will also be available for purchase.
Champaign-Urbana Special Recreation was formed through a cooperative agreement with the Champaign and Urbana Park Districts to provide recreation programs and leisure services for citizens with disabilities in the C-U and surrounding areas. One aspect of our organization we are particularly proud of is our scholarship program.
Our scholarship program allows children, teens, and adults with disabilities that are residents of Champaign or Urbana to participate in recreational and leisure activities for half the cost. For a large number of our participants, receiving a CUSR Scholarship is the only way for them to attend summer daycamp, participate in Special Olympics, or even simply socialize with friends.
